We know that the most important feature that your aquarium should have is the fish. Well, they are actually the main reason why we have aquariums in our homes. However, how do you determine the right fish for your aquarium, here are some easy steps for you to choose the right saltwater fish for your aquarium:

Step 1: You need to determine the number of fish that your aquarium can house by the size of your tank. As general rule of you should follow a 2 inches of fish per gallon of water.
Step 2: You need to buy your fish from a reputable dealer or a pet shop that are known for their product. Surely you want to have clean fish that won’t make other fish sick.
Step 3: You should know more of your fish like their particular needs, weather temperature, chemical, dietary, or compatibility-related.
Step 4: You can start out with the damselfish, which are considered as an excellent beginner fish. Since, they’re tougher compared to other marine fishes, they can tolerate poor water conditions as well as temperature fluctuations. However, they are fairly aggressive and you should only have a limit of two damselfish in your aquarium.
Step 5: You can then use Mollies, gobies and blennies, starfish and sea urchins, or even crabs and shrimps. But remember, you should avoid angelfish, pipefish, eels, stonefish, clams, seahorses, octopi, and jellyfish since they are choosy of the water conditions of your aquarium, this will give you a hard time in maintaining them because they are delicate.
